Do you ever find yourself giving energy exclusively to the areas you need to improve on? Do you forget to give yourself a high-five for all the things you get right? Me!

Some examples...

  • "I need to exercise 5 days a week"
  • "I need to do a better job of meal planning"
  • "I need to get to bed earlier" or
  • "I need to hit my macros more consistently by tracking my food"

It’s great to set goals but don’t forget to give yourself a pat on the back for all the habits you are already crushing

As a personal example, I was feeling a bit down on myself this winter. I slipped on some great habits that I want to get back to including sleep and nutrition. Buuuuuut... I am taking a moment to feel proud of myself for my consistency with my walking habit all through the winter - even on the cold days I hit up a treadmill indoors to clock my 10,000 steps. Woot woot!

What is a habit you are rocking? Remember, the habit might be so engrained into your lifestyle that it doesn’t feel like it requires any effort. Oftentimes I have clients report that they have no “good habits” but when we delve into their lifestyle they are rocking 7-8 hours of sleep each night, are connecting with friends and family daily, and drink water as their most often beverage. These seemingly small habits are SO impactful! Celebrate them!
