There is a compelling tendency among health minded folks to quickly move past the fundamentals of nutrition and exercise and on to seemingly elaborate, more sophisticated dietary protocols and exercise programs. I understand how this occurs. The urge to quickly move away from the basics and toward advanced strategies arises out of the natural desire to chase excellence. But it is the wrong move.
